Driving And Turning Right!

Turning right may sound like a really simple task – I felt that as well when I first learnt and took my driving lessons.

However, it was slightly less easy than I thought. The following coaching video can help you better understand how to execute this driving maneuver to perfection.

One of the reasons why some people and driving students panic such as me the first time I had to do a right turn in a right hand drive country was that there were many incoming cars from the opposite direction and it does not make sense to wait for the traffic junction’s green arrow to pop up all of the times. On top of that, I misjudged the curb of the road I was entering into sometimes, and that resulted in me mounting the kerb which is a big driving no-no.

Turning right in a country such as Singapore is definitely harder than turning left, because you’re driving your car past incoming traffic, as well as pedestrians crossing the street – this results in many blind spots.

So, you need to take much more care when making a junction right turn in Singapore and look out before driving so that you can stay safe and keep the roads in Singapore safe as well.

If in doubt, drive slightly slower and you will stay safer generally speaking.
