So you have a foreign legitimate driving license but you would like to convert it into a Singapore driving license so as to drive on the roads of Singapore? There are certain steps you need to take (if you are learning from private driving instructors Singapore).
I decided to write this post because I realized quite a lot of foreigners do not know how to do so.
1) Go down to Ubi, Bukit Batok or Admiralty’s driving school.
2) Go to the Traffic Police department within.
3) Ask for application for conversion of license. You will then need to go through BTT, apply for PDL and go for FTT. Then you will apply for final practical exam – pass it and you finally will get your coveted Singapore driver’s license!
Okay, perhaps that sounded too general – here’s the breakdown.
BTT basically stands for basic theory test and it’s a simple theory test on the road signs shown in Singapore and the quiz has 50 questions out of which you need to get 45 correct to pass.
FTT stands for final theory test and the quiz format is similar to BTT. It is however more heavy on application of driving, such as how to parallel park e.t.c.
PDL is provisional driving license, which is the license that grants you the right to learn driving on the roads from certified driving instructors.
